Maryland hairstylists are reportedly He assaulted a 15-year-old customer and dragged her to the scene. Reportedly, when she tried to leave without paying her $150 bill.
Jayla Cunningham, 18, was charged with second assault on a minor earlier this month following an incident inside a hair salon in Maryland, Prince George County.
Cunningham says he's just finished working on his client's hair. Includes adding weaving to the girls when it's time for the client to pay for the service. Reported by Fox 5 DC.
There was a debate over the $150 payment, claiming that the teenage payments were sent through a cash app, but Cunningham is said to have never received the payment.
When the younger client began leaving the store, the hairstylist grabbed the client's hoodie and turned his back into the building.
“She ran. Forgetting the trash, she ran without paying me,” Cunningham told the outlet.
Cunningham was captured by security cameras, pulling the girl into the hallway before pulling her into the room next to a garbage bag.
The hairstylist then cried out to his client to stay on the floor.
“Sit here until someone sends it. I'm not an f-king play. I tried to run. I've heard Cunningham says he's saying, according to the video the outlet has obtained.
The furious hairstylist disappeared into the hallway before quickly returning to stare at the camera that captured the entire incident.
“I'm like going back to the salon in her hood and running until I can get paid, or until the police arrive or you know, she lets me do my service,” she said.
The teenage mother claimed that her daughter had sent the deal to the wrong person, which caused misunderstandings between both sides.
“It's just totally ridiculous. It's viral. The disappointed mother told the outlet.
The teenage mother accused Cunningham of grabbing her hoodie and grabbing her daughter's hair, causing her to hurt the teens.
Cunningham defended her actions and said that if she had not stopped her teenager, her clients would have used her services.
“If I hadn't done that, she would have been gone and I would have just never been paid,” Cunningham said.
The Prince George County District Attorney's Office filed a criminal charge against the 18-year-old on March 5th.
Cunningham is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the April 18 case, according to court records seen by the Post.
The 18-year-old self-published author was slapped on October 4, 2024 on three counts of second-degree assault charges stemming from a lawsuit filed by the Hyattsville Police Department.
Details were limited in previous cases, but the hearing is scheduled for March 18th.
