A Maryland man has been charged with killing his estranged wife outside a Giant supermarket Saturday, police said.

Frederick Owusu Sakyi, 33, of Walkersville, was arrested Saturday night by Frederick County Sheriff's Office officers. The shooting occurred earlier that evening, the department said in a Facebook post.

“On Saturday, January 6th, at approximately 11:11 p.m., Frederick County Sheriff's Office personnel were dispatched to the Urbana Giant, located at 3530 Sugarloaf Parkway, for a shooting,” authorities said in a statement. he explained in a Facebook post.

Police found the deceased victim in the parking lot, a woman later identified as Sarki's estranged wife. Police said the couple is in the process of divorce.

“During the initial investigation, it was determined that Mr. Psaki is the victim's estranged husband and they are currently in the process of divorce,” the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. “Additionally, there is a history of protection orders and stalking by Sarkii.”
