Masked anti-Israel Stanford protesters charged in destructive campus building takeover

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office recently invaded a building on Stanford University campus and accused him of barricaded and destroying the management office during a destructive anti-Israel protest at an elite liberal Northern California school last June.

Prosecutors said 12 masked people, who were allegedly 19 to 32, “broken windows and furniture, smashed fake blood and broken security cameras.”

A news release from the district attorney's office said it had suffered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Each of the accused is charged with felony vandalism and felony conspiracy to break invasion, officials said. They will be arrested later this month in the San Jose Hall of Fame and face imprisonment and compensation if convicted.

At about 5:30am on June 5, 2024, the protest began outside the then closed building 10 on Stanford campus, which houses the university's president's office. According to the release, the agitator spray painted the exterior of the building, and another person shattered the windows.

“Before the cameras were covered, multiple suspects carried 10 containers into the building and recorded the barricade entrances and exits using ladders, furniture and additional equipment they brought into the building,” according to the DA's office.

Authorities said other protesters in the building have begun recording social media videos “listing a series of requests.” Anti-Israel protests emerged last year on university campuses across the United States. Protesters demanded that the university be fired from companies doing business with Israel as a war in the Gaza Strip that targeted Hamas terrorists for an attack on Israel on October 7.

Stanford University's Department of Public Safety responded from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and the Palo Alto Police Department and requested assistance.

According to the DA's office, officers broke through the barricade around 7am and arrested 13 people.

According to the release, there was damage to offices, door frames, furniture and items stained with fake blood splashes in Building 10. As reported by Fox News Digital last June, photos shared on X by Stopantisemitism showed slanderousness on the wall like “Kill Cops,” “This S — Down,” and “Death to Israel.” The group chanted, “Palestine is free and we will release Palestine.”

The protester's backpack was recovered inside the building and included forced input tools such as electric grinders, hammers, clover, chisels, screwdrivers, goggles, numerous straps and cables.

Cell phones recovered from the arrested person provide encrypted text messages and links to detailed operational plans, according to officials.

Prosecutors allegedly “the suspect met days ago showed that he met many times in order to conspire to take over the building.”

“The opponents are Americans. Vandalism is a crime,” District Attorney Jeff Rosen said. “There is a bright line between making a point and committing a crime. These defendants crossed the boundaries of criminality when they broke into those offices, barricaded them inside and launched a calculated plan of destruction.”

A “Do-it-yourself occupation guide,” shared in the communications that “vasiveness removes space from the capitalist landscape by occupying space,” may determine that groups are better off destroying or destroying their normal roles.

The student journalist who was embedded in the protesters but did not participate in the vandalism was not accused.
