Shocking video footage shows two masked thieves using sledgehammers to destroy a Connecticut jewelry store in a brazen raid.
video Westport police released It begins with a quiet scene at Lux, Bond, and Green on Main Street around 3:10 p.m. on a Thursday, with only a few people in a room inside.
Suddenly, two scammers, wearing black clothing with hoods and faces covered except for orange gloves, rushed into another part of the store.
They both start destroying the display. One of the crooks moves to break another display, while his companions first take the jewels from the cracked display.
Police said they fled within 30 seconds with an “unknown amount of jewelry.”
“The employees were safely evacuated to the back of the store and had no contact with the suspects,” police said in a statement.
Westport police said the suspects were last seen driving a black BMW sedan toward Fairfield on Post Road East.
