Boston Protest Marks Second Anniversary of Hamas Attack
On Tuesday night in Boston, pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered to commemorate the second anniversary of the Hamas attack that led to the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis and ignited a prolonged conflict.
One protester expressed their view that these movements—Antifa, Free Palestine, and others—represent a single entity of far-left ideology. “From my perspective, this is all the same ball of wax,” they stated.
Promotional flyers for the rally displayed images of individuals with Kaffiyehs as well as police vehicles in flames, with phrases like “Flooding in downtown Palestine” and “Assemblies and marches” inscribed on them.
John Gerry, host of “The John F. Gately Show,” recorded scenes from the protest. In one video, a group of masked protesters sat on the ground attempting to conceal their activities. When Gerry approached, they quickly formed a barrier using their Kaffiyehs to block his view. One protester claimed to be tending to a fellow demonstrator who needed to “rest.”
Gerry shared with Blaze News that as the march reached a downtown intersection, the atmosphere turned tense, with protesters obstructing emergency vehicles. He noted, “There were reports of pepper spray. I didn’t see it,” but confirmed that conflict broke out on Tremont Street.
He mentioned seeing protesters pushing against each other before police intervened and made arrests. Thirteen individuals were arrested, comprising eight males and five females, and four officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, which included broken bones.
Tensions in the community had already been running high prior to this demonstration. Just last week, a visiting Harvard professor was reported as having fired a pellet rifle near a synagogue, claiming he was “hunting rats”.
Another insight from Gerry highlighted a persistent connection between various protest movements he observed. “It effectively promotes violence at a distance,” he remarked.
Mayor Michelle Wu acknowledged the situation in a statement, expressing gratitude towards the Boston Police Department for their efforts in maintaining safety and allowing citizens to demonstrate peacefully, while emphasizing that violence would not be tolerated in the city.
Blaze News has sought comments from the office of Governor Maura Healy.
