Masters: Bryson DeChambeau does best Paul Bunyan impression, leads at Augusta

Bryson DeChambeau did a lot at the Masters on Friday. From the air traffic control signal early in the round to carrying a gigantic Paul Bunyan-like post, he commanded attention.

His personality was on full display, and he shot a 1-over 73 in the tournament, placing him at 6 under.

Wind conditions gave him trouble throughout the day, making three birdies and four bogeys.

“I’ve never been to Augusta National under these conditions,” DeChambeau said. “Having patience, putting the ball in the right position and being able to forgive myself for not-so-great shots were important aspects for me to play well.”

DeChambeau entered Augusta with newly designed irons and looked comfortable the past two days. He will enter the weekend at the top of the leaderboard alongside world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Max Homa.

“I got a chance to show off my skill set. Hopefully I’m good enough to do something special this weekend,” he said. “I feel like I’m in a great position for the game. My mindset is solid. My caddy is keeping me in check. We’re having fun and joking around even in tough situations.” . So I feel like everything is going pretty well.”

His play continued to be at the highest level this week at the Masters, but it was Paul Bunyan’s skill at No. 13 that caught everyone’s attention.

A fan took a photo of him Carrying a signpost on your back And tell a joke. These reactions will remind DeChambeau of what it’s like when he’s competing.

“Content Jesus” is hilarious since DeChambeau is very active on social media. He is constantly creating content and growing his brand on his TikTok and YouTube.

Medieval punishment was also a punch line for patrons.

Whether you like DeChambeau or not, he’s funny. The former SMU golfer knows how to attract attention, and he got it in full force Friday.

He gave fans at home and on the grounds more to talk about than just Jason Day’s outfit.
