Zach Johnson had a tough day Friday at Augusta National.
He was standing on the 12th tee at 4 over par, toying with the cut line. Johnson then duck-hooked his tee shot into the woods across from Ray’s Creek, forcing him to reload off the tee for his third shot.
The attempt went wide to the right of the green, and Johnson ended up with a triple-bogey 7, all but ending his chances of playing this weekend.
But after missing a putt for double bogey and tapping for a triple, Johnson yelled “fuck you” after the crowd applauded his make.
“Did I swear to a patron? That’s laughable. Totally laughable,” Johnson said after the round.
“I can’t hear the patrons, number one. Number two, if I hit a triple bogey on the 12th hole, I would obviously miss the cut. I mean, I knew this was a pretty sensitive thing. If I said something, especially if it was caught on camera, I’m not going to deny it, but the first thing is to apologize. Second, I couldn’t hear anything behind me, so it was completely directed at me. Does that make sense?”
Fans didn’t buy Johnson’s ridiculous reaction to the ordeal.
A cover-up is worse than a crime.

Did Zach Johnson tell his patrons to “fuck it up”?

Zach Johnson’s comments yesterday should be a bigger topic. He’s made some nasty comments in the past, but blatantly lying to the media about the whole situation on camera is just ridiculous (lol).

Should Caitlin Clark apologize for Zach Johnson?

As the golf calendar progresses, Zach Johnson’s selection to lead the U.S. Ryder Cup team becomes more and more puzzling.

Johnson hit a triple bogey on the 12th hole and finished 7-over par, one stroke short, for a 3-over 75.
Still, his performance at the 2024 Masters Tournament will likely take a backseat. Instead, fans will likely debate his comments for quite some time.
