MSNBC Analyst Links Charlie Kirk’s Rhetoric to Violence

On Wednesday, MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd suggested that the way Charlie Kirk speaks has made him susceptible to violence.

Kirk was reportedly filmed at a Turning Point USA event held at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, and officials confirmed that a suspect is in custody. Dowd implied that Kirk’s “hate speech” ultimately led to the incident where he was shot.

Dowd remarked, “He was one of the most divisive young figures, consistently promoting hate speech aimed at particular groups.” He added that we live in a troubling environment where harmful words often lead to harmful actions.

Footage from the event captured Kirk clutching his neck as the crowd dispersed, with security quickly escorting him away. A source indicated to Daily Caller that Kirk is currently alive in the hospital but has lost a significant amount of blood.

An eyewitness, a college student in the crowd, described the moment: “Out of nowhere, there was one loud shot. I saw him hit his neck.”

In response to the shooting, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social, urging people to pray for Kirk. “We all have to pray for Charlie Kirk, who was shot,” he wrote. “Amazing man from top to bottom. God bless him!”
