Luciana Barroso, Matt Damon’s wife, revealed that she didn’t initially see him as the “cutest guy” in *Good Will Hunting* before they got to know each other.
She shared with Damon about her past crush on his best friend and co-star, Ben Affleck, “probably a few months” into their relationship, which started back in 2003.
“I was with my girlfriend who had a crush on someone from high school, and we ended up watching *Good Will Hunting*,” Damon, 55, mentioned, recalling it during a recent conversation on *The Howard Stern Show*.
He humorously noted, “Her best friend thought I was a cute guy, and I thought Ben was that too,” adding a light-hearted twist to their discussion.
After Barroso confessed her earlier preference, Damon replied, “You were mistaken.”
Howard Stern pointed out that Barroso had collaborated with both stars on a project, with Affleck acknowledging her past feelings: “She’s an incredible producer and a great friend,” he stated, not picking up any romantic vibe from her.
Barroso once thought Affleck was “the cutest” back during their *Good Will Hunting* days. Damon joked that perhaps he “got the wrong one” after hearing her confession.
He quipped, “I think it’s just about how reality looks different from movies.” To which Damon cheekily added, “Once she met him, everything changed.”
Married since 2005, Damon and Barroso share four daughters: Alexia (26), Isabella (19), Gia (17), and Stella (15), the latter four being from Barroso’s previous relationship.
Affleck had been married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 until 2018, and together they have three children: Violet (20), Seraphina (17), and Samuel (13). He then tied the knot with Jennifer Lopez in 2022, but they called it quits just two years later.
Despite the ups and downs in Affleck’s love life, he remains close to Damon and Barroso. Recently, Damon made headlines after being spotted holding hands with Lopez and then playfully kissing Barroso on the head during an outing in Los Angeles.
In the summer, Affleck was seen riding a tricycle during a dinner date. Speaking about their friendship, Damon reflected on the support Affleck has given him over the years, saying, “He’s always been there for me through thick and thin.” It’s what true friends do, he added.
