Former Disney actor Matt Prokop’s mugshot has surfaced after his recent arrest in Texas on charges related to child pornography and assault. The booking photo, shared by the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, shows Prokop looking quite startled as an officer stands beside him holding a booking placard.
In the image, Prokop’s teeth are barely showing, and his brown hair is styled aside, obscuring part of his forehead. The actor, known for his role in High School Musical III: Senior Year, was dressed in a casual patterned shirt with gray sleeves.
According to jail officials, Prokop was taken into custody on December 24 in Victoria County and is facing multiple charges. Specifically, he has four misdemeanor counts, which include violating a protective order and evading arrest, alongside two counts for resisting arrest and other related offenses.
Beyond these misdemeanors, Prokop also has outstanding warrants for aggravated assault tied to a domestic violence incident, as well as a second-degree felony charge for possession of child pornography.
This latest arrest has drawn attention back to Prokop’s past issues, especially the allegations made by actress Sarah Hyland. During their relationship, which ended in 2014, Hyland accused him of both verbal and physical abuse. In court documents from that time, she described a particular incident where Prokop allegedly slammed her against a car and strangled her after a crash.
Hyland asserted that the abusive behavior escalated, with Prokop making threats to harm her dog and even to set her house on fire when she attempted to end their relationship.
Prokop’s other notable appearances include roles in Disney productions like Geek Charming, Hannah Montana, and Good Luck Charlie.
