Matt Ulrich’s wife, Alison, pens heartbreaking post after his death

The wife of former Colts offensive lineman Matt Ulrich, who was announced to have passed away at the age of 41 on Wednesday, has written a heartbreaking message for the late Super Bowl champion.

Allison Ulrich fondly remembered the late NFL professional player in a message she shared on social media, calling him “one of a kind.”

“Our beloved, the incomparable Matt, has passed away and we are in a better place,” Alison posted.

“Matt, we love you so much. We miss you so much. We all wish you could come back just one more day. One more hug. One more kiss. No more. One laugh. Another joke. One more fight with the boys. It seems impossible to live this life without you.

“Please pray for peace and comfort for the boys. They have lost their biggest fan, coach and friend.”

Ulrich was the father of four sons.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.

An online fundraiser has been launched to support Ulrich’s family following the shocking news.

“As a way for the community to support Allison, Gunther, Dalton, Borden and Thoreau moving forward, this GiveSendGo campaign was established to help people get involved. All funds will go directly to the Ulrich boys. Thank you for your continued prayers, support, love and uplifting family,” the online campaign message reads.

An undrafted graduate of Northwestern University in 2005, Ulrich signed with the Colts and played with the team from 2005 to 2006.

He was part of the Colts team that defeated the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XI in February 2007.
