Mattel recalls Fisher-Price Snuga swings after infants suffocate

Mattel will recall all models of Fisher-Price Snuga infant swings after five deaths were reported between 2012 and 2022 due to choking hazards, consumer protection authorities and toy companies said. The manufacturer announced on Thursday.

The Snuga Swing is aimed at infants up to 9 months of age, has both forward and backward and side to side movement, and comes in 21 different models.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said swings should never be used for sleeping, and blankets and other bedding should not be added to swings because they can increase the risk of suffocation.
