LeBron’s Anthem Stunt is Below Him | Don’t @ Me w/ Dan Dakich
“I think practicing your golf swing during the anthem? That’s really childish, honestly. It’s a bit ridiculous. For someone like him, born to a young mother and having to stay at a friend’s place, who then becomes a billionaire in this country… it just feels off.”
Dallas Mavericks player Cooper Flagg had to leave the game against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night due to a shoulder injury received from a tough foul while he was going for a layup.
In the last minute of the second quarter, Flagg made a fantastic defensive move, intercepting a pass. He took off down the court, looking set for an easy layup, especially being in his second year out of Duke.
What he probably didn’t see coming was Pacer Aaron Nesmith sprinting up behind him, committing a foul just as Flagg was nearing the basket.
Flagg fell hard under the basket and lingered on the floor for a bit, which wasn’t a good look for the Mavericks, understandably. They always have to stand up for their star players.
Nesmith received a flagrant foul for the incident, but there was some pushing and shoving that erupted on the court afterwards.
And, really, hats off to Pacers assistant coach Jenny Boucek, who jumped right into the chaos to pull Nesmith away.
Unfortunately for Flagg, he did not return to the game. The timing was critical since Dallas was leading by 33 points at the moment of the foul. But weirdly enough, the final score ended up being much closer than one might expect.
The Mavericks managed to secure a 121-108 victory. While they should be pleased with the win, the concern for Flagg is likely to linger in their minds.
