Details from Ghislaine Maxwell’s Interview With the DOJ
In a recent interview with the Justice Department in 2025, Ghislaine Maxwell, a former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, stated that she never witnessed any inappropriate behavior from former President Donald Trump. According to the DOJ document released Friday, Maxwell described the two as being friendly in social settings, but she didn’t believe they were particularly close. She emphasized, “I don’t remember ever seeing him at his house or in any sort of massage environment. In my experience, the president was always a gentleman.”
The interview, conducted by Associate Attorney General Todd Blanche at a Federal Correctional Facility in Tallahassee, Florida, spanned over two days. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. In August, officials mentioned to Fox Digital about the potential release of audio files and transcripts from this interview.
Jeffrey Epstein was known for his predatory behavior and had previously pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution in 2008. He faced new federal charges for sex trafficking minors in 2019 but was found dead in his New York City jail cell, which was ruled a suicide.
A joint memo from the DOJ and FBI issued in July stated that both agencies had no new information to release publicly regarding Epstein’s death and claimed it was a suicide, refuting any potential lists of clients he may have exploited.
This memo drew criticism from some supporters of Trump, who believe that the Epstein controversy hasn’t been fully resolved. They argue that Epstein did not die by suicide and suspect a cover-up that protects powerful individuals implicated in the abuse of minors.
Former President Trump has dismissed the Epstein case as a political fabrication, suggesting that the ongoing discussions around it serve to further discredit him. In a recent post, he criticized the focus on the Epstein files, claiming, “These were created by the previous administration and are being used against me.”
During a call to action from voters, Trump directed the DOJ in July to unveil all reliable evidence linked to Epstein. He stated, “We want to be transparent, but we also don’t want to harm anyone unnecessarily.”
