Gislaine Maxwell, who used to be a close associate of the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, reportedly informed the Justice Department that she “didn’t witness” any inappropriate behavior from President Trump. This information comes from a transcript released on Friday.

“I think they were friendly in a social setting,” Maxwell commented on the relationship between Trump, specifically Associate Attorney General Trump Blanche, and Epstein. She added, “I don’t think they’re close friends, and I’ve certainly never seen the president—like, at his house or anything.”

Maxwell also stated, “I have never actually seen the president in any type of massage environment. In fact, I never witnessed him in an inappropriate situation. He was quite the gentleman during the time I was around him.”

Maxwell participated in interviews with the Justice Department on July 24 and 25. Transcripts and audio recordings from those sessions were made public by the department on Friday.

Additionally, the Justice Department shared a significant batch of documents from the “Epstein Files” with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, as required by a subpoena. The transcript of Maxwell’s interview was included in this release.

Maxwell, who has been linked to Epstein for many years, was convicted of sex trafficking in 2021 and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Earlier this year, she asked the Supreme Court to review her case, but the Justice Department encouraged the court to deny her appeal.

Epstein faced numerous accusations involving the trafficking of young girls and was known to associate with powerful individuals, including Trump, former President Clinton, British Prince Andrew, and several notable celebrities.

Trump has often been questioned about the broader implications of the Epstein case and has stated he supports the release of accurate information. However, he has expressed frustration regarding the continual focus on the matter, including from his own supporters.

He has also not ruled out the possibility of forgiving Maxwell, acknowledging his power to do so but mentioning that he hasn’t given it much thought.
