Maxx Crosby addresses ongoing trade rumors about the Raiders

Maxx Crosby’s Ups and Downs Continue

Maxx Crosby’s situation took another unexpected turn this week. Reports surfaced that the Raiders’ standout edge rusher had expressed a desire to be traded to Las Vegas minority owner Tom Brady. However, Crosby was vague while addressing the buzz during his recent appearance on the podcast “Let’s Go!” He mentioned he didn’t want to rehash every little thing whenever new news broke.

Crosby mentioned he’s been inundated with messages asking about the situation. “People are hitting me, ‘Did you say that?’ You can’t control that,” he said. “That’s just part of being a player. If I wasn’t doing the right things, people wouldn’t be talking.”

He attributed the ongoing chatter to his on-field performance and off-field personality. “When you have drama and a losing season, they just throw gasoline on the fire,” he remarked. “For me, I know what I stand for, and honestly, I don’t care what people say.”

When discussing his aspirations, the seven-year veteran, who has accumulated 69.5 career sacks—all with the Raiders—stated he just wants to be in an environment where he can be himself. “I just want to play football and not have to say anything,” Crosby added.

Amid the swirling rumors, Raiders’ new head coach Clint Kubiak and owner Mark Davis expressed their hope that Crosby remains a part of the team during Kubiak’s first press conference. It was interesting to note that, although Crosby wasn’t there, many teammates, including running back Ashton Giunty, were present.

Kubiak revealed that he had met with Crosby earlier that day, expressing anticipation about further discussions. However, the relationship between Crosby and the Raiders has soured recently. Following the last regular season game, the team decided to suspend Crosby due to a persistent knee injury, which reportedly upset him so much that he left the facility in a huff, believing he was fit to play.

There have been murmurs from unnamed sources suggesting that Crosby might choose retirement over returning to the Raiders. Yet, Crosby refuted claims that he had asked to be traded. It seems that with each passing week, the situation only becomes more unclear.
