Mr Paul, notorious for his swagger, was seen lying on a chair while workers performed the fashionable procedure – removing unwanted hair with a twisted thread – and then moisturizing his eyebrows. Shown in the video.

When asked when was the last time she waxed her eyebrows, Adams replied, “I usually do it myself.”

“I just do my thing, because if I mess it up, it takes weeks to get back on track,” he added.

Prostitution in the area began to raise eyebrows among neighborhood residents when the number of sex workers and their employees exploded during the pandemic.

“All these prostitutes just came out of nowhere,” said Maciel Lugo, 32, a middle school teacher who lives near Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights.

“It was a very depressing summer. There were 20 prostitutes on one block. And unfortunately it's true that crime happens because it brings in a lot of men who don't live in the area. ” said Lugo, who works at Leonardo da Vinci Secondary School.

“I couldn't even walk down the street with my children. I felt very unsafe,” Lugo said.

However, a recent police crackdown in the area resulted in 891 arrests, 118 of them in connection with prostitution, according to the mayor's office.

In October, Gov. Cathy Hochul also sent state police to help take control of the seedy neighborhood, which at the time had “more brothels than brothels.”

“They definitely did a great job. As you can see, there are no prostitutes,” Lugo said during Friday's tour.

Adams vowed to “remain vigilant” to reduce crime in the neighborhood.

“We've made big inroads here,” Adams said. “People told me, when I came here at 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., they wanted us to clean up this area and that's what we're doing.

“We will continue to remain vigilant,” he said. “What I saw today was very different than what I saw the first time I walked down Roosevelt Street, so we're going to stay on top of this issue.”

During the walk-through, a salon employee told the Post that Adams paid $4 to get his eyebrows done and left a good tip.
