Mayor Eric Adams Breaks New Ground By Teaching New Yorkers How To Use Trash Cans

New York City Mayor Eric Adams got a big kick out of unveiling brand new trash cans that will be mandatory for use in some buildings, according to video footage circulating on social media on Monday.

In the video, Mayor Adams expertly rolls New York City’s new trash can onto the sidewalk as photographers gather to watch as the song “New York” by singer Alicia Keys plays, then tosses bags of trash into the can and kindly shows New Yorkers how to use it. Officials said homes with one to nine units will be required to install new trash bins to prevent bags of trash being left on the streets. CBS NewsOnce the rule comes into effect, around 70 percent of the city’s garbage will be stored in these containers, according to the media.

“Today, we toss more black bags into the dustbin of history and take the next step in our ‘trash revolution,'” Adams reportedly declared. “The first-ever official New York City trash bin is high-quality, affordable, and furthers our efforts to containerize more than 70% of the City’s trash to protect our most precious and limited resource: our public spaces.”

Meanwhile, the city is struggling to cope with a constant influx of illegal immigrants and asylum seekers as a result of the ongoing border crisis. It was recently revealed that New York taxpayers will foot the bill for $1 billion to house the migrants in hotels and shelters. But at least they have shiny new trash cans to throw their trash in.
