McDonald's launches new sweet and spicy offerings for summer

McDonald’s to Spice Things Up This Summer

McDonald’s is set to heat things up this summer with a handful of new spicy menu options.

The fast-food chain has been known for its breakfast sandwiches for 50 years. Starting July 8, a new spicy version of the Egg McMuffin will be available for a limited time at select locations.

According to McDonald’s, this limited-time offering includes all the beloved elements of the classic Egg McMuffin—melted cheese, a freshly cracked egg (now sourced from 100% cage-free hens in the U.S.), Canadian bacon, and a perfectly toasted buttered English muffin—plus an exciting addition: a drizzle of McDonald’s signature Spicy Pepper Sauce.

But that’s not all. On Monday, McDonald’s quietly introduced a new dessert, the Blueberry & Cream Pie.

This sweet treat is being served warm and rolled out across the country just in time for the Independence Day festivities.

“So, whether you’re heading out on a road trip, setting up a backyard barbecue, or just taking a summer afternoon break, grab a blueberry and cream pie (or a couple),” McDonald’s suggested.

While the fast food giant hasn’t specified how long these new menu items will be available, they noted that the spicy McMuffins “won’t be around forever” and that the new pie will be available “while supplies last.”

Additionally, last month, McDonald’s announced the return of the popular snack wrap, which was removed from the nationwide menu nearly nine years ago. This item will rejoin the menu starting July 10 and will be a permanent offering “as long as there’s demand,” the company stated.
