McLaren unveils their livery for the 2024 F1 season

F1 teams are working hard to unveil their cars for next season. In recent years, each team has held it as a big event, and last year both Red Bull and AlphaTauri made their Challenger debuts for the 2023 season in New York City. Williams will follow suit, with an event scheduled for February 5th in New York City.

But McLaren went in a different direction.

After days of posting cryptic videos on social media, Monday included a hype video that referenced at least one of the tough starts to the 2023 season. SB Nation STORY — McLaren shared its 2024 season look on social media on Tuesday.

Its trademark “papaya orange'' color is a major feature, and it uses a large amount of bare carbon fiber, which has become a trend in F1 in recent years.

Last year, the team got off to a slow start, but quickly climbed up the constructors' standings, eventually finishing in fourth place. When I spoke with CEO Zach Brown near the end of last season, he talked about how the team has put the right people in place to improve last year's challenger, the MCL60. We have outlined how this major reversal has become possible.

McLaren may aim for an even better finish this season after a strong start to the 2024 campaign.
