CNN political commentator SE Cupp said on “The Situation Room” on Friday that former Vice President Mike Pence was “foolish” when he refused to endorse former President Donald Trump.
“I don’t support Donald Trump,” Pence said on Fox News.
“This is a vice president saying he doesn’t stand for the solid loyalty he served for four years,” Cupp said. “That’s remarkable. But pointing the finger at policy disagreements is a bit of a cop-out.” I feel like he’s at odds with conservative policies right now. Mike Pence seemed fine with all of that.”
She added: “It’s just crazy to me that it’s been this long since Mike Pence publicly announced that he doesn’t support him, and he can’t say it’s because Donald Trump is dangerous.” ” he continued. That’s because he led the rebellion. That’s because he’s corrupt. Because he is the subject of criminal charges. That’s because he’s anti-American and anti-democratic. He can’t say all the very obvious things. He must now say that they have policy disagreements. ”
Cupp added: “I think this is a very unpalatable and a pretty lame way to end Mike Pence’s once pretty promising political career.”
