Meet The Wealthy People Who Dropped Off Forbes Billionaire List This Year

Forbes releases annual rankings of the world's wealthiest individuals, with some names soaring to new heights, while others falling off the list. On the 2025 Forbes Billionaire List, 107 people lost their status as billionaires and were below the required threshold to stay on the honorable list.

Here are some of the famous names that have failed to make it this year:

Lisa Su

Lisa Su, CEO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), led one of the most notable turnarounds in the technology world. Since taking charge in 2014, AMD stock has skyrocketed nearly 40 times in early 2024.

Born in Teinan, Taiwan in 1969, Sue moved to New York City at the age of three. The daughter of a discoverer who turned mathematician and bookkeeper, she graduated from Bronx High School before earning her bachelor's and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from MIT.

Before joining AMD in 2012, Su played a key role at Texas Instruments, IBM, and Freescale. Two years later, she became CEO.

As of 2024, Su was one of only 26 homemade women and 26 employment executives, building a billion-dollar fortunes.

Sarariu

Sara Liu co-founded Super Micro Computer Inc. (Supermicro), which was co-founded in 1993 with her husband Charles Liang. The company, a leading supplier of server and storage systems in 2007, was launched in 2007 and has grown into a major partner for Nvidia.

Liu serves as Senior Vice President and serves on the Supermicro board of directors, while Liang is CEO and Chairman. Until 2019, she handled the company's finances as treasurer.

Despite Supermicro's growth, Liu dropped out of Forbes' $202.5 billion list

Nicolas Pueti

Nicholas Puetis, a descendant of Thierry Hermes' fifth generation, was once one of the main stakeholders of the iconic Paris luxury brand.

He resigned from Hermes's Board of Supervisors in 2014, but he held just under 5% of the company, while other families continued to hold a majority stake.

In the same year, Hermes and LVMH resolved a four-year dispute over LVMH's secret stock accumulation.

Despite his deep ties with the fashion empire, Pueti claims that his fortune has disappeared, sparking an exit from Forbes' $202.5 billion list.

Despite several exits, the billionaire population reached a record 3,028, surpassing the 3,000 mark for the first time. Their total wealth has skyrocketed to $16.1 trillion, up 2 trillion from last year.

Some billionaires lost their spot, but in 2025 288 new players joined the ranks.

Among the biggest winners, Elon Musk's net worth surged 75% to $342 billion. This made him the first person in history to exceed $300 billion.
