Mega Millions jackpot edges closer to $600M

The Mega Millions jackpot is approaching $600 million.

The grand prize was increased by $38 million to an estimated $563 million because no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night.

The one-time cash option is currently worth $265.4 million.

The winning Mega Millions numbers Friday night were 4, 6, 40, 41, 60 and Mega Ball 11, according to the lottery.

Lottery players’ next chance to win the Mega Millions jackpot will be on Tuesday.

Mega Millions said that if won at current levels, “it would be the eighth largest jackpot in the game’s nearly 22-year history.” The largest jackpot ever won last year was $1.602 billion.

The last time the grand prize was won was in December, when two tickets in California split the $394 million prize.

The increase towards $600 million came three days after the Lottery announced that the jackpot had surpassed the $500 million level for the first time in 2024.

Mega Millions says it has exceeded that point twice in the past 12 months.

The lottery had two jackpots surpass the $1 billion mark in 2023, one reaching $1.348 billion in January and another reaching $1.62 billion in August. .

The odds of a player winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.
