Christian Singer Tops Charts with Personal Anthem

The song “Truth” has captured attention, reaching the top spot on several Christian Airplay charts, as well as Billboard’s Christian Digital Sales charts. It even received nominations for Song of the Year and Breakout at the recent K-Love Fan Awards.

The lyrics unveil a journey from grappling with falsehoods about identity to a beautiful realization: “The truth is, I am my father’s child.” It embodies the image of an ideal king.

“I wrote Truth stemming from my deepest struggles,” the artist shared. “Growing up, I faced bullying and verbal abuse, leaving me feeling inadequate and undervalued. I constantly questioned myself, feeling like I didn’t belong anywhere.”

“That all changed when I immersed myself in the Word of God. I had a really low moment, and during that time, I discovered my true worth and identity in Christ. The song emerged from that revelation.”

This piece, co-written by Woods along with Matthew West and Jeff Pard, resonates deeply with listeners. It reflects Woods’ personal battles and evokes hope among music fans. Indeed, CCM Magazine dubbed it the biggest debut single launch in the past two and a half years. Currently, the official video boasts over 5.3 million views.

“We need Jesus more than ever,” Woods expressed. “Given the pervasive nature of social media, there’s rampant comparison and confusion about our identities. This song speaks to many who might struggle with feelings of unworthiness.”

Recently, Woods also released a new single titled “I Believe in You,” a reflection of her journey through a tough period where hope seemed elusive.

“During that time, I thought I wouldn’t make it through,” she recounted. “But I recalled verses from the Bible, like Isaiah 40:31, which assures us that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”

“It’s about understanding that God is fighting for us. He fights for me.”
