Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Attend Netflix Event
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still connected with their friends at Netflix. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a mix of work and leisure during a date night at the Montecito Tastemaker event for Beef Season 2, hosted by Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant.
During the star-studded gathering, Markle was seen holding Avant’s hand, which was notable amid recent reports suggesting tensions with Netflix following the decision to part ways with Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever.
The couple mingled with a host of celebrities at the Southern California event, which included Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau, Orlando Bloom, Beef star Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Charles Melton.
It’s been suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan should consider following a strategy similar to what Duchess Kate has employed, particularly after the challenges they’ve faced with Netflix.
Meanwhile, representatives from Archewell and Netflix have not yet commented on recent events.
The partnership between Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan, and Netflix began in 2020 with a hefty $100 million deal, leading to several collaborative projects, including the series Harry & Meghan and upcoming projects like Heart of Invictus and Polo.
However, in July 2025, Netflix announced that it would not be renewing its contract with the royal couple, instead opting for a multi-year “first look” deal.
Recently, Netflix stepped away from supporting Markle’s latest venture. A spokesperson stated that Markle’s vision for her brand was inspiring and that the platform was pleased to have played a part in it. They noted that Markle would continue to expand her brand independently moving forward, hoping to spread joy through it.
In its own statement, Markle’s brand, As Ever, expressed gratitude for the support from Netflix during its initial launch year. The brand is looking forward to an exciting year ahead and plans to introduce new products in 2025, with an anticipated launch in April.
As Ever will feature lifestyle and home goods, and its offerings are expected to include items like jams, honey, teas, wines, and candles. Initial products sold out quickly after their launch, despite some suggesting the prices were on the high side.
Markle’s show, With Love, Meghan, which highlighted her celebrity friends sharing tips on cooking and gardening, has completed two seasons, with the latest season released in 2025. While there’s been no official word on a third season, the show has yet to be canceled.
