Meghan Markle enjoys the Fourth of July with a berry platter

On July 4th, Meghan Markle gave fans a peek into her holiday celebrations with Prince Harry and their children via a new post on Instagram.

The Duchess of Sussex, who’s 43, shared a short clip showing a Charcoal Grilling Committee themed around the colors of the American flag. In the video, she sported a blue and white striped shirt, which some noted looked a lot like what she wore at Wimbledon in 2018.

The festive board featured a mix of blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and watermelon, finished off with star-shaped cheese and an assortment of crackers. Interestingly, Markle added her own jam to the arrangement, though food experts previously described it as “runny.”

The clip concluded with a view of the board set on an outdoor table beside two celebratory drinks. In her signature calligraphy style, Markle wrote, “Fun and happy, happy July 4th,” even adding an American flag emoji to the caption.

Last year, the couple marked the holiday by attending a local parade in Wyoming, and in 2021, they enjoyed the Montecito parade. Looking back, Prince Harry reflected on celebrating July 4th early in their relationship, recalling their second date on the same day in 2016, where he gifted her something American-themed.

He described her as wearing a white pinstripe and blue sundress, and he jokingly recalled shaking a pink box to present her with red, white, and blue cupcakes for Independence Day. Despite the cultural differences regarding the holiday, he seemed to take it in stride.

Since establishing their Instagram presence, Markle has been posting various updates on their children, Archie and Lilibet. Recently, however, she faced some criticism for a throwback video celebrating Lilibet’s birthday, which featured the “Baby Mama Dance” from the delivery room.
