Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Series Struggles to Gain Traction
Meghan Markle is facing another setback. Her Netflix series, “Love, Meghan,” has not managed to make it into the top 10 streaming lists.
The second season, consisting of eight episodes, was released on August 26 and featured appearances from celebrities like Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, and Jay Shetty.
Shortly after debuting, the show received harsh criticism from British reviewers, who described it as “Tone Deaf,” “Needy,” and “self-satisfied.”
These reviews seem to echo a broader sentiment not reflected in its viewership. The second season failed to achieve a spot on Netflix’s coveted top 10 list.
In contrast, the first season made a strong entry, debuting in the top 10 with 2.6 million views in its opening week.
Not only did Season 2 miss the Netflix metrics, but it also didn’t appear on Luminate’s Top 50 streaming charts for the week of August 22 to 28.
Data from the industry analysis company shows “With Love, Meghan” garnered fewer than 111 million views within its first couple of days.
The series continues in the same format as Season 1, with Markle hosting from home and sharing various lifestyle tips.
Alongside familiar faces, guest appearances this season include David Chan, Christina Tosi, and José Andrés.
This situation is undoubtedly disappointing for Netflix, especially as it extends the contract between Markle and Prince Harry.
Though the deal is more relaxed compared to the previous $100 million contract from 2020, it still allows streaming platforms some say over future projects.
Sadly, following Season 1, Markle’s show still didn’t rank among the top 300 most-viewed titles on the platform from January to June 2025.
In fact, it earned a lowly 383rd place with only 5.3 million views since its March debut—the lowest for any updated Netflix original.
