Meghan Markle stands by her dance video from the delivery room despite criticism

Meghan Markle recently discussed a video of her dancing with Prince Harry in their hospital room shortly before the birth of their daughter, Lilibet. The footage sparked a variety of responses online, with some critics labeling the moment as “cringe” and attention-seeking, while Markle described it as “real.” In a teaser for an upcoming episode of the “Aspire” podcast, she reflected on the experience, saying, “You have to be real. Did you see my ‘Baby Mama’ dance? …By the way, that wasn’t yesterday. That was four years ago.”

She emphasized that, despite any surrounding negativity, there’s a genuine and joyful life happening behind the scenes. “I’m grateful that I’m now back on social and have a place where I can share it on my terms,” she added.

When asked by host Emma Gredge if she could rewrite her public narrative, she replied, “Yes, I ask people to tell the truth.” The Duchess of Sussex’s comments come amid her sharing of rare family moments. Most recently, she marked Father’s Day with a sweet post featuring Prince Harry and their children, expressing gratitude for their family.

In another Instagram update, Markle shared a black-and-white photo of herself holding Lilibet as a breeze tousled the toddler’s hair. She celebrated her daughter’s birthday with a heartfelt message: “Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Today, four years ago, she came into our lives—and every day is brighter and better for it. Thanks to everyone who sends love and celebrates her special day!”

Married in 2018, Markle and Harry welcomed their first child, Prince Archie, in 2019 while still holding senior royal roles. However, in 2020, they decided to step back as senior royals due to intense media scrutiny and a perceived lack of support from the palace, leading to their relocation to California. Following this transition, Markle has been cautious in sharing images of her children, keeping their faces mostly hidden and avoiding public engagements that could attract paparazzi.
