Megyn Kelly has slammed First Lady Jill Biden as a “power-hungry political power-hungry” who accused her of appearing on the cover of Vogue to “promote herself” as she serves as a “shadow presidency” in place of her “ailment” husband, President Joe Biden.
“I think she’s exposed herself as a power-hungry political power-hungry person,” Kelly told Piers Morgan on the online TV show “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”
Jill Biden is seen as one of the president’s key advisers and has encouraged the president to resist growing pressure to withdraw from the race over concerns about his age, especially after Joe Biden stuttered and lost his train of thought during last week’s debate.
Kelly, a former primetime host at Fox News who now has a podcast called “The Megyn Kelly Show” on SiriusXM, was referring to a June 2021 photo the first lady tweeted of herself sitting at a desk.
The caption of the post read, “Preparing for G7.”
“She’s not the president. Get out of your chair,” Kelly told Morgan on Wednesday.
Her remarks were reported According to news site Mediaite.
“Nobody wants you in the G7. Nobody elected you as a political leader.”
Kelly also reflected on the furor that followed after he criticized the First Lady for insisting on being referred to as “Dr.” because she had a PhD in education.
“Everyone on the left was angry with me,” Kelly said.
“Why is she hung up on it? Because she’s power-hungry. Because she has a tiny, shattered self-esteem that she needs to build up,” she continued.
“Without disrespecting the degree, I understand that only physicians can legitimately be called physicians.”
Kelly said the video showing Jill Biden helping the president off the stage during last week’s debate was like a “mom” leading a “toddler.”
After Biden’s pathetic debate performance, the first lady reportedly told her husband, “Joe, you did a great job! You answered all the questions! You had all the facts!”
Kelly said the first lady’s comments were “the same way I would talk to my dog when he sits on command.”
“He’s the leader of the free world. She knows how weak he is. She wants a shadow president.”
The Washington Post has reached out to the White House for comment.
