Megyn Kelly slams ‘thin Ozempic’ Oprah over Kamala Harris town hall

Megyn Kelly slammed “unrealistic billionaire” Oprah Winfrey for the “ridiculous” town hall meeting she hosted for Vice President Kamala Harris, saying “skinny Oprah” has become “elitist” and is no longer “real.”

“I miss Fat Oprah. She was such a genuine person,” Kelly said on Friday's episode of her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

“The now-skinny Ozempic Oprah has lost her heart and her authenticity along with her weight,” Kelly said.

Winfrey moderated a town hall meeting in Michigan, a key battleground state.

The event, billed as a “Unity Rally for America,” was the Harris campaign's official town hall meeting, which was streamed live on the Internet Thursday night.

The event was attended online by a host of big name celebrities, including Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and Jennifer Lopez. Winfrey also interviewed Harris in a format similar to her long-running daytime TV show.

But Kelly was not impressed.

“I loved Oprah, like most of us,” the former primetime Fox News star said.

“And only now do I realize that I have been fed propaganda by this woman for years.”

Kelly said the town hall meeting hosted by Oprah was a “debacle” and the “ultimate culmination of her failure as a journalist.”

When interviewing “the candidate for the next president of the United States,” Winfrey said, “not only did he fail…”[to] Instead of asking her the tough questions, she used the format of “rehabilitating and repackaging.”[e]”Harris.”

Kelly said Winfrey should have pressed Harris on gun policy and the border crisis.

During the event, Harris caused a stir when she told Winfrey, “If someone breaks into my house, I'm sorry, they're going to be shot.”

“I probably shouldn't have said that,” Harris said, drawing laughter from the audience, “but my staff will deal with that later.”

Kelly slammed Winfrey for not asking Harris if she would support a mandatory gun buyback.

“This question can be crafted in a variety of ways, but any honest broker should craft it carefully,” Kelly said.

“She's not like that,” she added of Winfrey.

The town hall meeting was attended by a live studio audience as well as celebrities who participated virtually, including Julia Roberts. AP

Kelly said Winfrey's wealth made her an “unadulterated, elite billionaire” in the country who “has no time for working-class people.”

Kelly also criticised Winfrey for “yelling” during the event.

“I thought, what is she doing? It seems pretentious, it seems forced, it makes me uncomfortable,” Kelly said of Winfrey.

The Washington Post has reached out to Winfrey for comment.
