After the breakout season, Mekhi Becton has even more new teams.
Bust, a former Jett who enjoyed a career renaissance with the Eagles last year, has signed a two-year contract worth $20 million with the charger. According to the NFL network.
He sees it as a major addition to the team's offensive line as protection for star quarterback Justin Herbert.
The 6-foot-7 Becton, listed last year at 363 pounds, spent four years with the Jets, who drafted him with the No. 11 pick in 2020.
He struggled to live up to expectations, and his Jets tenure was maligned by two separate knee injuries.
They chose not to bring him back when his contract expired in his final offseason, and he then signed a one-year contract with the Eagles.
So Becton shifted from tackle. He played, defended and enjoyed success for both the college and the Jets.
He started 15 games in all regular season and four postseason games, playing an integral role with the Eagles winning the Super Bowl 2025.

Only 25 years old, Becton won a 70.7 overall year from his pro football focus last year. He ranks 20th out of all NFL security guards.
“It certainly had dark days,” Becton told post Mark Canisarro about his time with the Jets after winning the Super Bowl. “I was there a little bit of that dark day, and it feels good to actually cry tears of joy.
“I'm one of those people who are going to work no matter what. I'm going to keep my head down no matter what someone says. I'm just working. Good things come to people who do good things. I put in work, and now I'm rewarded for it.”
The Eagles lost several key contributors from last year's teams, including Josh Sweatt, Milton Williams and CJ Gardner Johnson.
