Mel Kiper Jr. goes OFF on the Panthers mishandling of Bryce Young

Less than 24 hours after the Panthers decided to bench Bryce Young and start veteran Andy Dalton, the debate surrounding Carolina is at an all-time high. On Tuesday morning, Mel Kiper Jr. get up And he roundly criticized the entire process surrounding the second-year quarterback.

“And then look at him beating C.J. Stroud on the field as a rookie. He had six touchdowns and three interceptions, except for three games where he threw multiple interceptions. He had some good games last year. And then coming into this year, all Because C.J. Stroud is doing big things in Houston — “We've got to destroy this thing, blow it up, and start over. Because C.J. Stroud is doing big things in Houston — these coaches aren't doing it.”

So they bring in an offensive coach who was with Baker and the others. They bring in a new passing game coordinator. They bring in a quarterback coach in Bryce Young. And they don't use him in the preseason! They only use him for one series in the final preseason game against AOG. [any old guy]None of these players, by the way, currently play for Buffalo. They walked one series down the field and celebrated, saying, “Yeeeaah! Yay! I accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish!”

A quick note: CJ Stroud played two preseason games. Derek Carr played two preseason games. Why? Klint Kubiak came in with a new offense and Derek Carr played two preseason games as a veteran. Bryce Young played just one series in the final preseason game against a no-name Buffalo Bills defense. No wonder he didn't play two games. Sure, his confidence was shattered. Sure, he needs to take a back seat to Andy Dalton for a while. But “it's Bryce Young's fault” is ridiculous. The blame here is on the organization, the ownership, for mistreating this young quarterback.”

I don't see any lies here: calling the Carolinas a garbage dump is an insult to burning trash.
