Humanoid Robot Joins Melania Trump at Children’s Technology Summit
On Wednesday, First Lady Melania Trump made quite an entrance at the White House Children’s Technology Summit, strolling alongside a humanoid robot. The event took place on the concluding day of the “Growing Our Future Together,” a global initiative concentrating on artificial intelligence’s role in education.
Officials from nine countries, including the U.S., France, Poland, the UAE, and Morocco, shared their plans for incorporating technology into their educational frameworks.
New AI Framework Announced
During the summit, Melania expressed her thoughts on the future of artificial intelligence, stating, “The future of AI is anthropomorphic.” She elaborated that soon, AI would transition from being mobile-phone-based to humanoid forms, which would be more practical in human environments.
She envisioned the potential of a humanoid educator named ‘Plato,’ who would provide instant access to a wealth of knowledge covering literature, science, art, and history—all from the comfort of home.
In a memorable moment, Melania and the humanoid walked together in the White House’s East Room before the robot engaged with panelists at a table.
Robot Introduced by Figure AI
The humanoid robot, introduced last October by Figure AI, a robotics startup from California, drew attention as it interacted with attendees. In a polite greeting, it expressed gratitude for the invitation, stating, “I am Figure 03, a humanoid created for the United States of America,” and conveyed its mission to empower children through technology.
Interestingly, the robot showcased its capabilities by expressing thanks in ten different languages before making its way back down the red carpet. This high-tech initiative aims to empower young people and foster a better future—as many attendees reflected on the possibilities of incorporating such technology into education.
