Melania Trump Completes Her First Year Back as First Lady with Legislative Achievements and Worldwide Efforts

Melania Trump recently highlighted her various accomplishments as First Lady during her second term, reflecting on her increased involvement in legislative and global matters over the past year. In a post shared on her official X account, she outlined several key initiatives from 2025.

Among these, she noted the passing of the Take It Down Act, which criminalizes the non-consensual distribution of explicit images, whether real or generated by AI. This legislation received strong bipartisan support, and in signing it, President Trump acknowledged her role, marking her as the first woman to co-sign the bill.

On the topic of foster care reform, she backed the initiative called “Developing the Future of America’s Children and Families.” This plan aims to create an online resource hub for foster youth, helping them access educational and career opportunities. Additionally, she successfully secured $25 million in the fiscal year 2026 budget for transitional housing and support for young people aging out of the foster care system.

In the realm of technology education, Melania is steering the Presidential AI Challenge, which invites K-12 students to tackle local issues with AI. This initiative coincides with the White House Task Force on AI in Education, which has brought together leaders to address the role of AI in schools.

Internationally, a significant focus of her work involved reuniting Ukrainian children displaced by conflict with their families, a task she approached by engaging both Ukrainian and Russian officials, even presenting a personal letter to President Putin. As of late 2025, she announced the successful reunification of several children with their families.

Moreover, Melania launched a global coalition at the UN called “Growing the Future Together.” This initiative seeks to unite first spouses and global allies to enhance safe technology and education access for children, with the inaugural summit planned for 2026.

In addition to these highlights, Melania Trump also made strides in various areas throughout the year. She secured a $40 million deal with Amazon for her documentary, reflecting on her time as First Lady, and established Muse Films, a production company named after her Secret Service codename.

Continuing her visits to Children’s National Hospital, Melania celebrated holidays with young patients, gifting them toys and uplifting their spirits. She also engaged with military families during holiday events, emphasizing their sacrifices and resilience.

On the legal front, she achieved a public apology from HarperCollins UK for unfounded claims linking her to Jeffrey Epstein. Her legal team’s swift actions showcased her commitment to clarity and integrity.

In November, Melania was recognized as “Patriot of the Year” by Fox Nation, where she encouraged Americans to value innovation and ambition. During summer disaster relief efforts, she visited Texas following devastating floods, pledging her continued support for affected communities.

Throughout her term, Melania has consistently advocated for “everyday Americans,” amplifying voices of those who have faced challenges and injustices at public events like the State of the Union.
