Melania Trump Employs AI to Tell Her Memoir in Her Own Voice

Melania Trump Releases AI-Narrated Audiobook

First Lady Melania Trump has unveiled an audiobook of her memoir, narrated entirely by an artificial intelligence voice that mimics her own. This audiobook can be purchased from her website for $25.

Her memoir spans her life in Yugoslavia and her marriage to Donald Trump. The audiobook is also available in several languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi.

In a promotional video shared on social media, Melania said, “My story. My perspective. The truth.” She expressed excitement over what she called a “new era of publishing,” suggesting this format could revolutionize how stories are told.

The AI voice was developed in collaboration with ElevenLabs, an audio AI startup based in New York known for its speech synthesis technology.

The memoir, published in October 2024, includes anecdotes from her life, such as her initial meetings with Donald Trump. She described feeling captivated by his charm and the lively atmosphere around them, but despite the spark, she initially turned down his request for her phone number, leaving him somewhat surprised.

Melania also took the opportunity in her memoir to discuss women’s rights, emphasizing the importance of autonomy and the necessity for women to be free from governmental influence regarding their choices.

The book doesn’t shy away from controversy; it addresses accusations of plagiarism regarding her 2016 RNC speech, which bore similarities to Michelle Obama’s 2008 address. Melania reflected on her disbelief upon realizing the overlap and acknowledged having depended on others for guidance during that critical moment.
