First Lady Engages with Humanoid Robot at Technology Summit

On March 25, 2026, First Lady Melania Trump welcomed a unique guest to the ongoing Nurturing the Future Summit at the White House—a humanoid robot. This robot, known as Figure 03, is an American creation and took center stage alongside Trump in the East Room, representing both innovation and technology at this international event attended by delegates from 45 countries and 28 tech companies.

Figure 03, resembling the First Lady in height, featured a mostly white exterior with a glossy black screen serving as its face. Its human-like articulation in arms and legs, along with five fingers, gave it a surprisingly lifelike presence.

“I’m Figure 03, a humanoid built in the United States,” the robot announced, waving its hand. “We are grateful to be part of this historic movement to empower children with technology and education.”

During its address, the robot expressed gratitude to President Trump for being invited to the inaugural general meeting of the World Federation and greeted international leaders in several languages.

Despite its somewhat rigid movements, the robot appeared to interact seamlessly with the audience and left the room waving without any apparent technical issues. Once it departed, Trump humorously remarked, “Of course you are the first American-made anthropomorphic guest in the White House.”

The day’s discussions included a focus on using technology in safe ways. President Trump was accompanied by other first spouses, including Brigitte Macron from France and Princess Lalla Hasna from Morocco.

Global Education and Technology Initiative Launched

Earlier that day, Melania Trump had opened the two-day summit, emphasizing the need for representatives from over 40 countries to collaborate on improving children’s access to education and technology.

On the first day of the summit, she had launched the “Growing Our Future Together” initiative, which she previously announced during the United Nations General Assembly. In her remarks, she highlighted the aspirations leaders should share for progress and innovation.

“As humans, we dream. As leaders, we progress. As nations, we build,” she stated in her book. “Starting today with our new global alliance, let us accelerate this bond and positively impact the progress of children.”

President Trump remarked on the summit’s impressive turnout, noting, “Nowhere else do we bring together such great talent, from AI pioneers like OpenAI and Palantir to major technology platforms.” She urged leaders to leverage their resources to support children and boost the economy.

With notable figures such as Olena Zelenska, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, attending, Trump called for the formation of networks and partnerships aimed at enhancing education amidst a rapidly changing world. She highlighted the importance of transcending political differences to fulfill educational needs globally.

“Our shared vision puts children above political philosophy, geographic borders, and local prejudice,” Trump asserted.

This meeting marked a historic occasion, as it was the first time a First Lady hosted representatives from 45 countries at the Oval Office, alongside multiple technology companies.

“The Growing Our Future Together model further supports First Lady Melania Trump’s pursuit of action-oriented diplomacy on the world stage,” the White House announced. This initiative represents a long-term commitment encompassing numerous nations.

As this summit unfolds, there’s hope for lasting changes in education and technology opportunities for children worldwide.
