Melania Trump Issues First Statement Following Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump

First Lady Melania Trump issued a statement following the assassination attempt on her husband, former President Donald Trump, during a rally on Saturday.

“I’m thinking of you right now, my fellow Americans,” she said. statement on sunday.

“When I watched those vicious bullets strike my husband, Donald, I realized that my life and Barron’s were on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave Secret Service and law enforcement officers who risked their lives to protect my husband.”

The core human side of my husband’s life was buried beneath a political machine. Donald was a generous, caring man who was with me through the best of times and the worst of times.

“Let us never forget that differences, policies, and political maneuvering are inferior to love. Our personal, organizational, and life commitments are in grave danger until the day we die. Political concepts are simple compared to who we are as people.

“And when it’s time to look beyond left and right, red and blue, let’s remember that we all come from a family with a passion to fight together for a better life while we are here on this earthly realm.”

On Saturday, the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Fired Several shots were fired while Trump was speaking. Christian PostPresident Trump was shot above his right ear and then went into hiding.

Trump survived, but one attendee was killed and two were wounded in the shooting.

The FBI identified the slain rally attendee as Corey Comperatore, a former Butler County fire chief who was hailed as a hero for shielding his daughters from gunfire.
