Melania Trump to Ring Opening Bell at NYSE
First Lady Melania Trump is set to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on January 28th, just before trading begins for the day.
This event is part of a media tour promoting her upcoming documentary film, “Melania,” which premieres on January 30th. The film will be available in theaters before being released for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
The White House has indicated that this trip to New York is intended to celebrate what they describe as a “first year of impactful leadership” in the current administration’s second term.
Officials emphasize that the administration is focused on fostering economic growth and corporate leadership, viewing Wall Street stability and investor optimism as promising signs for the economy.
During her time in office, Melania has worked on numerous initiatives aimed at supporting children. Recently, she helped secure $25 million in housing assistance for youth transitioning out of foster care and has also been involved in efforts to reunite families affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
In addition, she has become a prominent advocate for significant legislation aimed at strengthening federal protections against deepfakes and non-consensual adult content, particularly affecting minors.
As she prepares to ring the bell at the NYSE, Melania joins a long tradition that includes various presidents, world leaders, and CEOs. This event aligns with the release of her documentary, which focuses on the 20 days leading up to her husband’s inauguration. The film features an “unfiltered look” into her experiences balancing family, business, and philanthropy as she stepped into her role as First Lady.
Directed by Brett Ratner, the documentary includes exclusive footage from those pivotal days, showcasing key meetings and conversations while the Trump family returned to the White House.
The film is set to debut at the newly renamed Trump Kennedy Center on January 29th. The 104-minute documentary will be released in major markets globally, including locations in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Amazon reportedly secured the rights to distribute the film in a deal worth $28 million.
This marks Melania’s return to the New York Stock Exchange, where she had previously visited during her first term, engaging with students in support of the Be Best initiative. The upcoming bell-ringing ceremony will be broadcast live, officially opening the market at 9:30 a.m. ET.
