Melinda French Gates to Dump $1 Billion into Abortion, Women’s Orgs

Melinda French Gates announced this week that she will donate $1 billion to women’s groups around the world, including groups that promote the killing of unborn babies through abortion in the United States.

“I have long been focused on improving access to contraception overseas.Dobbs Times have changed and I feel I must support reproductive rights at home,” French Gates said. I have written in The New York Times Editorial: “For too long, a lack of funding has forced organizations fighting for women’s rights to be on the defensive and opponents of progress to go on the offensive. I want to help balance the battle.”

French-Gates said the new spending will come from her organization. important — not from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a far-left organization she co-founded with her ex-husband, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, that focuses on globalist initiatives such as climate change, gender issues and vaccinations. French Gates is officially departure She wrote that she will be ending her role at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation next week after nearly 25 years.

The $1 billion will be distributed over the next two years to “people and organizations working on behalf of women and families around the world, including reproductive rights in the United States,” she wrote.

“Despite the dire need, only about 2 percent of charitable donations in the United States go to organizations that focus on women and girls, and only about 0.5 percent go to organizations that specifically focus on women of color,” she continued. If we allow this work to be chronically underfunded, we all pay the price. It’s shocking to even consider that my one-year-old granddaughter may grow up with fewer rights than I did.”

More specifically, French Gates said she has begun making grants through her organization to groups such as the National Women’s Law Center, the National Domestic Workers Alliance and the Center for Reproductive Rights, a New York City-based global legal organization that works to dismantle pro-life laws and promote the killing of unborn children through abortion.

French Gates said he’s also “trying novel tactics to bring a broader perspective to my philanthropy,” and recently offered to donate to 12 people he “respects.”[s]The group, which has been working on the issue of online extremism since 2013, said it would let each of them distribute the $20 million in grants as they see fit. The list also includes New Zealand’s former authoritarian prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, who is taking on an unpaid role fighting “online extremism” after leaving office in January 2023.

French Gates said the organization would also introduce a $250 million initiative this fall “focused on improving the mental and physical health of women and girls around the world.”

“As a young woman I never imagined the day would come when I would be involved in something like this. I have been given this amazing opportunity and I am going to grab it and do everything in my power to set goals for other women and girls so they can set their own goals,” she said.
