Movie director Barry Sonnenfeld dished the dirt on one of Will Smith’s nasty habits that was so bad it cleared out an entire movie set.
Kelly Ripa interviewed Sonnenfeld during a Wednesday’s episode of her podcast, “Let’s Talk Off Camera.” Sonnenfeld explained that Smith was a “farter.”
He said the stench of the gas that Smith omitted was once so bad, the entire cast and crew that was on-set filming the 1997 film “Men In Black,” was forced to leave the area for hours.
The director told Ripa that Smith let one rip while shooting a scene with Tommy Lee Jones in a hermetically sealed vehicle, which in the movie transformed into a hyper car in Manhattan’s Midtown Tunnel.
“They have to be put in this device which is the inside of the car that transforms into a hyper car, right … so we have to bring a ladder over on wheels,” Sonnenfeld said as he explained how Smith piled in during filming.
“We’d get them up there and we’d put them in the thing, and we’d turn it upside-down, and we’re ready to shoot, and they’re hermetically sealed in this space,” he said.
Moments after the cameras started rolling, Smith could be heard saying, “Oh Jesus, so sorry,” immediately followed by telling Sonnenfeld to “get the ladder!”

The crew rushed to get the ladder, not knowing what sort of emergency had just unfolded.
The emergency was the awful smell that proved to be unbearable.
“So what happened was — Will Smith is a farter — it’s just — some people are,” he said.
Sonnenfeld went on to describe the nasty stench by saying, “You really don’t want to be inside a really small, hermetically sealed space with a Will Smith fart.”

This was described as being far worse than the average fart.
“We evacuated the stage for about three hours,” Sonnenfeld admitted on the podcast.(RELATED: Selena Gomez Reveals A Famous Person Farted In Meryl Streep’s Face)
The famous directed said Smith was apologetic after the incident.
“Lovely guy, he just — he farts.”
