Incident on Belnore Drive Involving Armed Individuals
Last Friday night, around 11 PM, two men approached a house in the 4000 block of Belnore Drive, clad in tactical vests and carrying guns. They claimed to have an arrest warrant, according to police reports.
It appears the residents were startled. They had a Ring camera, which likely made them cautious. The suspects, however, were only two people without any visible patrol cars or lights to confirm their identity. One resident mentioned, “They knocked on the wrong door.”
After some exchange of words, a shooting ensued, leaving both armed men—ages 28 and 36—injured. Unfortunately, both succumbed to their injuries at the scene, as confirmed by the paramedics from Houston Fire Station.
The details about the deceased individuals have not been publicly released by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science.
Although the residents were cooperative during the investigation, the case will be forwarded to the Harris County Grand Jury for further assessment.
In light of the incident, the Houston Police Department’s Community Affairs Department advised that anyone encountering individuals pretending to be police officers should immediately call 911 for safety.
Following reports of the event, many people took to social media to express their opinions. Comments on a local news post included sentiments like, “Bravo, homeowner of the year! You’re the best!” and “They knocked on the wrong door,” reflecting a shared perspective among some community members.
