A well-known mental health advocate is currently facing a tragic situation following the brutal murder of her mother.
Meera Varma, who has been involved in mental health projects alongside notable figures like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Oprah Winfrey, experienced this heart-wrenching event at her Burbank residence early on Monday.
A suspect broke into the home and violently attacked her mother, Arti Varma, while her father was away visiting family in India. Neighbors reported that security footage captured the suspect fleeing the scene, according to reports.
Details remain murky regarding the suspect’s connection to the family or whether the act was targeted. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on North Brighton Street.
According to a friend who spoke with Meera’s father, he was utterly distraught, struggling to articulate his feelings, as described by neighbor Victor Gori.
