His talent and passion left an indelible mark on the sports world and his three Pro Bowl selections solidified his place among football greats.”

The Dolphins selected Morris in the third round of the 1969 NFL Draft out of West Texas A&M University. He emerged as a Pro Bowl-caliber running back in 1971 and had his breakout season in 1972, when the Dolphins went undefeated and won the championship.
In 1972, Morris led the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns and achieved his first and only 1,000-yard rushing career, becoming the first running back duo to reach the 1,000-yard mark in the same season.
He finished his playing career with the Chargers in 1976.
