Meta Blocks Controversial Site Linking to ICE Personnel

In a recent episode of “Kudlow,” Fox News contributor Kayleigh McGee White along with Mark Simone discussed President Donald Trump’s increasing popularity among Hispanic voters, especially in light of growing anti-ICE sentiments and recent uprisings in Minnesota.

Meanwhile, Meta has taken steps to prevent users from sharing links to a contentious website known as the ICE List. This website reportedly published the names of thousands of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) staff, including immigration enforcement officers.

Established in 2025, the site claims its goal is to provide a public record of federal immigration enforcement activities, essentially serving as a tool for transparency and accountability. Yet, critics have pointed out that such a database could represent a significant breach of privacy.

The site documents various incidents involving agencies, individuals, facilities, vehicles, and relevant legal authorities. Its creators assert that it is meant for use by journalists, researchers, advocates, as well as the general public.

A spokesperson for Meta announced that this decision aligns with their existing policies, which aim to safeguard personal information. The company specified that their privacy policy involves removing any content that shares or seeks personally identifiable information (PII), including contact details and other sensitive data related to law enforcement personnel.

In the past, Meta has taken similar measures to restrict information sharing that violates their standards on personal data. They emphasized that these policies are longstanding and not influenced by political views.

In a statement, the spokesperson reiterated their commitment to protecting user privacy. “If we become aware of instances where PII has been shared, we will take the necessary actions to comply with our regulations,” they mentioned.

The controversy surrounding the ICE List gained momentum following the shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis. This incident drew significant public outcry, especially after another tragic shooting of a Minneapolis resident and VA nurse, Alex Preti, by Border Patrol agents shortly thereafter. This sparked bipartisan condemnation and raised urgent questions about law enforcement practices.

Initially, DHS asserted that Preti had approached their officers armed and had resisted attempts to disarm him. However, video evidence appeared to contradict this claim, showing Preti being restrained while attempting to help a woman who was being pushed down by an agent. Just before he was shot, witnesses say an officer was seen reaching for his waistband.

While state officials later confirmed that Preti possessed a legal carry permit, this incident has intensified discussions about law enforcement accountability and prompted debates about gun rights and the responsibilities of government agencies.

As the investigation into these events unfolds, it’s clear that this situation has raised complex issues that resonate deeply across various communities and political lines.
