FIFA’s plans for this tournament are different from regular tournaments where only one country participates. They had to juggle his four time zones in three different countries while ensuring that players and fans were taken into account from a welfare perspective.
Instead of teams traveling across countries, FIFA worked with stakeholders to develop a schedule. The three countries will be divided into eastern, central and western regions, with each team training and operating outside of the region where the group stage will be held.
To ensure maximum preparation, rest and recovery, FIFA will ensure that all teams have three full days between matches.
Also, by keeping teams in specific regions, fans don’t have to travel all over the place to watch games in person.
