The Mets are looking to add free agent superstar Juan Soto to their outfield this offseason, and have entered the trade market to add another center field option.
The Mets acquired Jose Siri from the Rays for right-hander Eric Oze on Tuesday, the Post's Mike Puma confirmed.
Siri, 29, is a strong defensive center fielder who is expected to replace Harrison Bader as a midfield partner with Tyrone Taylor.
The right-handed Siri also has some pop, and in 2024 he had 18 home runs and 47 RBIs in 448 at-bats, but his batting average was only .187, OPS .620, and 170 strikeouts.
In 2023, Siri had 25 home runs, 56 RBIs, a .222 batting average, and a .761 OPS in 364 at-bats.

Orze, 27, made his MLB debut with the Mets last season, appearing in two games and allowing four runs in 1 2/3 innings.
In 43 games with Triple-A Syracuse, Orze had 84 strikeouts and a 2.92 ERA in 61 2/3 innings.
