
Mets officially City Connect jersey unveiled on Fridayfeaturing elements inspired by New York City.
The jerseys will be worn at every Saturday home game starting April 27 against the Cardinals, with the exception of June 1 against the Diamondbacks.
“Our new City Connect uniform is a tribute to everything that makes New York the greatest city in the world. We pay homage to the different parts of the city that connect us to our home in Queens. “We wanted to represent that,” Mets chief marketing officer Andy Goldberg said in a team release.
“From bridges to trains to streets, Mets fans across New York and around the world can proudly wear this streetwear-style look.”
The jersey features several Big Apple elements, including:
- subway circle and diamond
- Sleeve patch featuring New York City subway tokens
- A purple color that pays homage to the Line 7 train that runs directly to Citi Field.
- “City of the World” inscription highlighting New York’s diversity
- The front of the cap features an outline of the Queensboro Bridge
- On the inside of the cap, “New York City” is written along lines inspired by the New York City subway.
