Mets owner Steve Cohen is determined to sign Juan Soto and looks the other way when it comes to offering him a suite at Citi Field to include his family in his deal with the Amazons. There wasn't.
It was a small detail that seemed to help push the Mets' bid over other teams, including their crosstown rival Yankees.

And this suite appears to be one of the perks the Mets have added to show their commitment.
The newspaper's Jon Heyman reported that Cohen didn't hesitate to make a suite part of the deal, even if it came with a hefty price tag.
Suites at Citi Field cost between $3,250 and $13,000 per game, with prices varying depending on game day and opponent. According to Suite Experience Group.
The cheapest suite for the Sunday, May 25th game against the Dodgers is priced at $5,050 and comes with 16 tickets, while the cheapest suite for the Tuesday, June 10th night game against the Nationals is priced at $5,050 and comes with 16 tickets. The price is $7,500.
The most expensive suite for that particular game is $14,999.91.
Meanwhile, the Yankees balked at the idea of including a free suite for the Soto family in the deal, Heyman said.
The fact that superstar Aaron Judge paid for his suite, and that Derek Jeter also paid during his playing days, likely prevented them from granting the request.
Heyman said the Bombers were willing to offer Soto a shirt at a discounted price, but didn't want to go against established precedent.
The Yankees ultimately bid $760 million over 16 years to keep Soto in the Bronx, just $5 million shy of the Mets' historic offer.
