Port St. Lucy – A few staff members around Mets: It's when Jose Iglesias found work.
.337 batsman and “OMG” singer, 2024 Sparkplug agreed to a minor league agreement on a camp invitation with the Padres.
“It's someone that every team can win,” Pete Alonso said before his 5-1 defeat to the Astros at Clover Park. Any team is lucky to have him. ”
The Mets appreciated the flexibility of the roster, which largely split from fan favorites.
If Iglesia was brought back, they would have a solid roster of position players without choosing a minor league.
Such an arrangement blocks spots like Brett Batty and Louis Sangel Acknya that the Mets would like to see in the majors if they proved they conquered the pitching of the Triple A.
They resisted players that were less expensive financially, and apparently all the other teams showed little interest in the 35-year-old coming out of the magical season either.

I have a question about whether Iglesias' success is sustainable.
“It's good for him,” coach Carlos Mendoza said of Iglesias' signature. “Obviously he was a huge player last year for us who were off the field, not just for us last year. It's great that he finally found a home.”
The Mets miss not only the production of Iglesias, but also his production value.
They lost the national anthem and the crooner.
“It's 'Oh my God' stuff and he's a Latino pop star feeling, so I think people will miss it,” Alonso said. “But last year was last year and this year has been able to create a unique atmosphere.
“Others will have to meet the void of Latino pop stars,” Alonso added with a laugh.
