Walker Buehler is not right.
Still, that won't stop the Dodgers from giving him the ball in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday in Queens.
The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 5.38 ERA in 16 appearances in 2024 after missing all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Their first postseason game earlier this month was even worse, allowing six earned runs and seven hits, including a home run off the bat of Fernando Tatis Jr., which is exactly what you'd expect.
Buehler had problems with the long ball all season, allowing 1.91 home runs per nine innings, which was eighth-most in baseball among pitchers who pitched 70 or more innings.
And on Wednesday, he has another nightmare matchup with a certain Mets slugger.
Like Tatis, Pete Alonso has crushed Buehler over the years.
Alonso has hit four home runs in 14 total at-bats.

Only Patrick Corbin and Aaron Nola — who have played against him three times more — have allowed more home runs to Alonso.
Like many sluggers, Alonso specializes in fastballs, hitting .633 against four-seamers in 2024 and hitting 23 home runs against all types of fastballs.

It's exactly the pitch that Buehler has struggled with since returning from injury, going from being one of the league's best four-seamer in terms of run value (+59) from 2018 to 2021 to being limited this season. He was one of the worst four-seamer in that time. (-8).
After being quiet in the first two games of the NLCS, Alonso showed his usual power in the Mets' postseason run, hitting four home runs in 12 games.
